  • Dark side of ‘dream teacher’ – How married schoolteacher forced 11-year-old student to touch-kiss her, send nude pics

A horrific tale of events surfaced some time ago, involving a married elementary school and her 11-year-old child student. The female teacher from Russia, described as “dream teacher” of many was caught red handed for sexually abusing a minor in Toksovo town, located in the northern outskirts of St Petersburg.

Dark side of ‘dream teacher’ decoded via WhatsApp

The teacher in discussion was identified as Anna Plaksyuk, who was 25-year-old at the time of the abuse, RuNews24 reported. The inappropriate conduct of this mentor went on for four months before being finally caught by the victim’s mother. The abuse came to light after the victim’s mother discovered a string of explicit messages and photos exchanged between her son and the teacher on WhatsApp.

The mother of the victim accused the teacher of “systematic flirting, stroking and kissing,” and reported the matter to the school authorities.

It was found that Anna Plaksyuk asked the boy to stay back after classes and locked the door, what followed was “violent acts of a sexual nature,” a court in the Leningrad region of Russia observed. She not only made the 11-year-old kiss her on the lips but also forced the boy to touch her chest while she touched him inappropriately.

The harassment was not limited to the classroom, the teacher allegedly sent nude pictures to the boy and in return demanded that her pupil send her explicit photographs.

According to RuNews24 report, the teacher was awarded a jail term of nine years and has been serving the sentence in pre-trial detention since her arrest in February last year. She has also been banned from teaching for a further year after her release.

  • Gaza’s last lifelines gone – all public hospitals in North Gaza ‘out of service’ after Israeli bombing

The health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza in Palestine said on Sunday that effectively all public hospitals in the north of the territory were now “out of service” after the Israeli military took seige of an Indonesian hospital.

“The Israeli occupation has intensified its siege with heavy fire around the Indonesian hospital and its surroundings, preventing the arrival of patients, medical staff, and supplies — effectively forcing the hospital out of service,” the health ministry said.

“All public hospitals in the North Gaza governorate are now out of service,” it further noted.

The Indonesian hospital was the last functioning public hospital in the war battered territory.

The Israeli military did not release a statement regarding conflict around the hospital.

Northern Gaza’s previous main hospital, Kamal Adwan, was forced to stop serving Palestinians last year because of Israeli strikes, as was a second facility, Beit Hanoun Hospital.

The healthcare system in Gaza is barely operational due to repeated bombings by Israel on its hospitals. The blockade on aid supplies has compounded its difficulties, and worsened widespread hunger, for which Israel blames Hamas.

Israel bombings in Gaza kill at least 100

At least 100 Palestinians across the Gaza strip were killed by latest Israeli airstrikes, Reuters reported quoting local authoriies on Sunday.

“We have at least 100 martyrs since overnight. Complete families were wiped off the civil registration record by Israeli bombardment,” Khalil Al-Deqran, Gaza health ministry spokesperson, was quoted by Reuters as saying.

  • Fake news alert! India debunks China Daily’s report claiming Indian jet crashed in Kashmir. Here’s the truth

China Daily has been criticised for spreading false information about Indian jets crashing in Kashmir, using an outdated image from 2019. India’s PIB Fact Check emphasised the importance of verifying claims amidst growing concerns over misinformation.

In a recent development, China Daily has been called out for disseminating misleading information regarding Indian military operations. A tweet by the Chinese news outlet falsely claimed that at least three Indian jets had crashed in Kashmir, quoting The Hindu as the source. However, India’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check has clarified that the image accompanying the tweet is not recent but from an incident dating back to 2019.

The misleading post showed a photograph of wreckage surrounded by soldiers and civilians, which, according to PIB, was recycled to falsely portray a current event. In a statement on social media, PIB Fact Check confirmed:

“A news report by @ChinaDaily falsely claims that at least three Indian jets crashed in Kashmir. The image is from an earlier incident from 2019.”

PIB also highlighted that this act appears to be part of a coordinated propaganda campaign designed to incite panic and mislead the public. To substantiate their claim, PIB shared a link to a 2019 report by Al Jazeera covering the original incident.

This incident underscores the growing concerns around misinformation and the need for vigilance in verifying claims, especially those related to sensitive defence matters. India continues to actively counter such propaganda through official fact-checking channels.

  • AirPods and Apple Watch to get smarter with built-in cameras, Bloomberg reports

Apple is reportedly developing new AirPods and Apple Watch models with built-in cameras, expected to launch around 2027. The devices will likely include specialised chips for enhanced AI functions, potentially transforming wearables into more intelligent companions.

Apple might surprise fans with a new technology that blends wearable convenience with advanced visual intelligence. According to a recent Bloomberg report, the tech giant is developing updated versions of the AirPods and Apple Watch that feature built-in cameras, with a potential launch expected around 2027.

The report indicates that Apple is working on a specialised chip, codenamed “Nevis,” for the camera-enabled Apple Watch, along with another chip named “Glennie” for the upgraded AirPods. Both chips are expected to be ready by 2027, raising the possibility of a product release within that year if development proceeds smoothly.

Notably, the introduction of cameras could mark a significant step in Apple’s wearable strategy. While the devices are unlikely to support conventional photography or FaceTime, they are believed to be designed to unlock a range of AI-powered functions. For the Apple Watch, this could include embedding a camera within the screen or placing it near the Digital Crown on the next Apple Watch Ultra. These features could allow the device to interpret surroundings and offer more precise navigation and context-aware insights through a “Visual Intelligence” system.
